Leather
was the first material that humans benefited from
and¡¢despite the progress of technology, its wonderful
natural qualities cannot be imitated artificially.
Leather is thin and supple, and feels great; each
piece of leather has its supple and its tough part,
which makes it an extremely functional material.
So, what representative kinds of leather are there?
Let¡Çs take a look at their respective characteristics.
First of all, leather is divided into ¡Ægrain leather¡Ç
and ¡Æsuede¡Ç. Then we can see that ¡Ä
What
is grain leather?
It is natural leather
of which the surface has been treated. With its beautiful
surface, excellent durability and comfortable usage,
grain leather has a deep-rooted popularity.
What is suede?
Leather of which
the surface has been made velvety with sandpaper.
1.Cow
leather
Cow leather is of average thickness,
strong and sturdy.
2.Sheep
leather
The special quality of sheep
leather lies in its softness and elasticity.
It gives an even better fit than other kinds
of leather. It is popular because it is relatively
strong for its thinness. It is an outstanding
material for gloves.
3.4.Pig
leather
Compared to cow leather, the
pores of pig leather are further apart and wider,
which gives pig leather its characteristic unevenness.
That makes it relatively suitable for casual
goods.
5.Deer
leather
Deer leather has excellent breathability,
as well as moisture preserving and absorption
properties, and while being supple and soft,
it is an extremely durable type of leather.
How
to take care of the above-mentioned types of leather¡¦¡¦¡¦¡¦
In case
the leather has become dirty, as a general rule, please
treat it with a pencil eraser or some soft white bread.
The biggest enemy
is mold. If the leather is wet, please put it out
to dry in an airy place.
Please don¡Çt put
it close to fire or hot items as this might cause
a change in quality or shape.
Be aware that with
the present leather dyeing technology, friction and
some decolorizing due to water can not be avoided.
Refrain from washing the leather.
Before use, be sure
to read the attached ¡Èquality label¡É carefully.
6.Suede
The characteristic par excellence
of suede is its suppleness.
The top side of the leather is made velvety
with sandpaper. The hairs are short and of superior
quality, like soft leather. The skin of goats,
sheep, pigs and other small animals is particularly
suited.
7.Mouton
Generally only the hairy side
of a skin is used as surface. However, with
careful processing both sides can be used. This
is called ¡Ædouble face¡Ç, and is precisely what
mouton makes use of.
Because it has a layer of air between the hairs,
wool has outstanding properties regarding conservation
of warmth and moisture.¡¡The surface is water
repellent, but on the inside moisture can be
absorbed. It is a very comfortable material.
